Las Vegas is known for its searing hot summers, casinos and glitzy nightlife. However, this city is more than just high stakes and high temperatures, both on and off the Las Vegas Strip.

Explore Vegas year-round, whether you’re looking for a winter escape, a spring break, a summer getaway or a fall festival. No matter the season, you’ll find something to suit you in this vibrant destination.

Fall

While Nevada may not be a traditional fall destination, you can still enjoy autumnal sights in the Southwest.

Pack a picnic beneath colorful cottonwood trees at Floyd Lamb Park, an oasis in the Mojave Desert. Or hike Cathedral Rock Trail on Mount Charleston to see golden quaking aspens stand out against dark green pine trees.

For more classic fall fun, visit Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch and Gilcrease Orchard to pick pumpkins, take cozy fall photos and enjoy spiced treats like apple cider donuts. Or brave the Asylum and Hotel Fear Haunted House for hair-raising scares. Families can attend Springs Preserve’s Haunted Harvest for all-ages entertainment.

Fall is also festival season in Las Vegas. Rock out at the iHeartRadio Music Festivalthe biggest multi-genre music event — held at the end of September. The Life is Beautiful Festival brings together food, music, art and immersive experiences. And prepare to indulge in all things culinary at the Las Vegas Food & Wine Festival in October.

Winter

Take advantage of Vegas’ mild winters for the perfect escape from cold weather. The lower temperatures also make it easier to explore the outdoors without worrying about the valley’s 100°F summers. Las Vegas is near incredible state and national parks, including Valley of Fire, Emerald Cove, Bryce Canyon, Zion and Joshua Tree. Pile your travel party into a car and take a road trip to see the natural beauty of the American Southwest at one (or more) of these stunning parks.

However, you don’t need to travel far from Vegas to enjoy outdoor adventures. Hike through coppery red rock formations beneath a big, blue sky or ride horses through picturesque sandstone canyons. Head to Lee Canyon and shred the slopes at Las Vegas’ unexpected ski spot.

Celebrate the holidays in style on the Las Vegas Strip. Ice skate at the Cosmopolitan on the 4,200-square-foot rink and see the seasonal flower display at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden. Or get your blood pumping at the Las Vegas Great Santa Run, where runners in Santa suits dash through Downtown Las Vegas for a good cause.

Then rest your feet at The Boulevard, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, whether you soak in the private, resort-style pool or kick back in a spacious Suite.

Spring

Explore the city before the summer heat sets in. Take a selfie at Seven Magic Mountains, a public art installation located south of Las Vegas. Or hike Red Rock Canyon in search of desert wildflowers. If you prefer fauna to flora, spot bighorn sheep and massive tortoises at Desert National Wildlife Refuge.

Closer to the Las Vegas Strip, explore local Las Vegas culture with a tour. Take a bit of Vegas’ culinary scene with Secret Food Tours. Try a guided bar crawl along Fremont Street for a boozier excursion.

Or soak in the Las Vegas Strip’s neon lights and nighttime thrills on an open-air Jeep tour. Then head to the High Roller observation wheel or Stratosphere Tower for sky-high city views.

Spring also brings in Las Vegas events, from concerts to cuisine. Spend spring break at fabulous festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, San Gennaro Feast Italian Food Festival, Great Vegas Festival of Beer and Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival.

Cheer on the Las Vegas Aviators, the local minor league baseball team, and the two adorable bat dogs, Finn and Lambo.

Upgrade your baseball snacking from peanuts and Cracker Jack to elevated takes on classic ballpark eats. Or check out great restaurants near Las Vegas Ballpark, such as Public School 702 and Lazy Dog.

Then check-in at Cancun Las Vegas, a Hilton Vacation Club, where you can unwind by a pool (complete with waterslides) and enjoy amenities like an on-site spa, outdoor barbecue grills and a family-friendly game room.

Summer

Las Vegas summers hit highs over 100°F. So where’s the best place to cool off? The pool. The Las Vegas Strip has plenty of pool parties with DJs and drinks, including Wet Republic, TAO Beach Dayclub and Encore Beach Club.

Or escape indoors and meander through one of Vegas’ many air-conditioned museums and art installations. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum and DISCOVERY Children’s Museum are perfect for travelers of all ages. The Mob Museum and Punk Rock Museum offer unique perspectives into Vegas history. See the stars up close (in wax form) at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.

While Meow Wolf's Omega Mart may look like an ordinary grocery store, venture inside this mind-bending exhibition for an art show like no other. Or immerse yourself in interactive wonders at Illuminarium Las Vegas, where state-of-the-art technology brings to life unforgettable experiences — like exploring space or watching wildlife on a safari — without leaving Vegas.

After dark, the adventures don’t stop. The Neon Museum is open during the day, but it’s worth booking a tour at night to see the vintage signs light up, each with its own unique story. Remember to catch a show while in Vegas, whether it’s a contemporary circus by Cirque du Soleil, a memorable magic show or a concert from one of Vegas’ residency artists.

Stay cool at Flamingo, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, which offers easy access to Flamingo’s GO Pool Dayclub, LINQ Promenade shops and High Roller observation wheel.
