My wife and I have stayed at Sedona Summit, a Hilton Vacation Club — a resort in Sedona, Arizona — over the past five years. But this year, we discovered Ridge on Sedona, a Hilton Vacation Club and are now repeat visitors. Ridge on Sedona is in the pristine Village of Oak Creek community just south of Bell Rock.

The main difference between Sedona Summit and Ridge on Sedona is the latter has more open space and significantly less vehicular traffic than Sedona, making for a serene setting. You can also walk, bike, jog or drive to local trailheads within ten minutes of the resort. Our favorite hiking trails near Ridge on Sedona are Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, the Crescent Moon trail and. You can even wade in the refreshing Oak Creek via the Baldwin Trail.

Where to Eat Near Ridge on Sedona

It’s easy to eat healthy at the numerous organic restaurants in Sedona, or plan for memorable meals while observing the world-renowned sunrises and sunsets.

Oak Creek has fewer places to eat and shop than Sedona — which is about a 30-minute drive along a picturesque State highway. However, we discovered some of our favorite restaurants to eat at near Village of Oak Creek:

  • Oak Creek Espresso, a bakery and café
  • Pisa Lisa and Butterfly Burger, two high-end restaurants run by Lisa Dahl, one of the leading chefs based in Sedona
  • According to my wife, Argentinian restaurant Dellepiane has the best blackened salmon in Arizona, if not the Southwest. Plus, it’s a short, five-minute walk from Ridge on Sedona.

Things To Do in Sedona

Our family has also had the opportunity the last few trips to Sedona to “experience the experience.”

Sedona is known as one of the top “healing” communities in the United States because of its vortexes. We found numerous crystal shops throughout Oak Creek and Sedona. Additionally, Sedona contains some of the finest art galleries in the country.

One must not leave the Red Rock region without taking a Jeep tour from A Day in the West. This group offers many different adventures, but we recommend a sunset tour. Alternatively, horseback and helicopter tours are also a worthy way to view this unique area.

Whether you stay at Ridge on Sedona or Sedona Summit, this adventure is a must. And remember: Sedona is only a few hours drive to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, which is, if you ask me, another gift God gave Arizona.
